A man synonymous with some of the biggest days in Irish sporting history passed away today – RTE Sport’s Jimmy Magee. We talk to his compatriot Jim Carney (Uncle Jim) about his legacy, his sense of joy, and living out your dream.

And we hear audio from the Olympic Games of Los Angeles, Barcelona and the rest, as well as from Loftus Road and Barry McGuigan’s world title fight, in what might have been his finest hour.

Ireland is third in the world in per capita losses in gambling. The world leader is Australia, and today we chat to Samantha Thomas from Deakin University in Victoria about the situation in that country, and what steps they’re now taking to curb problem gambling.

And this isn’t just about blokey ads in every commercial break, as shocking figures about the amount of time betting companies’ logos are visible on Match of the Day prove.

Plus there’s Joey Barton, bull’s testicles, and Ray Winstone’s disembodied head.
