We might have had a fair idea it was coming, but it still came as a shock this morning to hear that Jose Mourinho had been sacked as Manchester United manager.

Ken has had his problems with Jose’s reign at Old Trafford, as you may have noticed, and humbly accepts victory in this clash of footballing titans.

Paul Pogba might have been the issue that ended up losing Jose his job – the United board could hardly stand idly by while their most valuable asset rotted on the bench. And we cast our eyes further back, to Mourinho’s time in charge at Real Madrid, and speculate on whether that was the moment the magician’s spell was broken.

And we talk to Miguel Delaney and Jonathan Wilson about where United go from here, why Pochettino still might fancy the job, Indiana Jones, and poisoned chalices.
