John Delaney’s €100,000 bridging loan to the FAI in 2017 has rather over-shadowed Mick McCarthy’s first week of training ground work (00.20 secs) with the new Irish team.

The Irish Times’ Emmet Malone joins us (9.30 mins) from Abbotstown to give us the latest on the Delaney story, as it appears the FAI CEO will hold a press conference next month which promises rather more answers than it will probably deliver.

Rory McIlroy won in spectacular fashion at the Players Championship at Sawgrass on Sunday night, the sort of performance that should halt murmurs of a worrying trend of finishing on the wrong side of tournaments he’d gotten himself into a position to win.

Malachy Clerkin and Lawrence Donegan, creator of McKellar golf magazine, join us (26.30 mins) to talk about a more even-keel Rory, why it’s still all about his putting, and the build-up to Augusta.

Plus there’s Ken’s tactics board, the young tyro that will fire the goals Ireland needs against Gibraltar, and Murph pores over some extremely complicated graphs.
