It’s one of our favourite shows of every year, and here is the 2019 edition – where we tell you what books to avoid, what books to beg your sibling for, and what our sports book of 2019 is.

Our judging panel is the same as ever – Sinead O’Carroll, news editor of The Journal, and Malachy Clerkin of the Irish Times. On the mortuary table, ready to be picked apart – “Recovering” by Richie Sadlier, “In Sunshine Or In Shadow” by Donald McRae, “The Double” by Adrian Russell, and a few more besides. We also discuss just what the furore around Joe Schmidt’s autobiography tells us about the current sports book landscape.

Plus there’s reaction to Liverpool and Chelsea’s progression to the Champions League last 16, and the sheer lunacy of Ajax/Valencia.

It’s independent, commercial-free and member-led with feature interviews, breaking news, Richie Sadlier’s Player’s Chair, The Politics Podcast, and lots of added extras.
