The question of whether the ‘hot hand’ – the increase in accuracy a basketball player supposedly benefits from once they hit a scoring streak – actually exists, has divided players and academics for three decades. We’re joined today by Wall Street Journal reporter and author of ‘The Hot Hand’, Ben Cohen to discuss whether the idea is more than just hokum, and how it applies to fields far beyond basketball.
