World Service members will have noticed a few Pierce Brosnan clips floating around the Second Captains twitter this week, clips taken from a documentary on Robin Hood. And so, in celebration of Pierce’s contribution to the craft of documentary-making, it’s wall to wall Brosnan today.

Man United continued their hot streak last night against Aston Villa, although they were given a small helping hand by some bizarre officiating for their opening goal, a Bruno Fernandes penalty. Meanwhile things are looking a little less optimistic for Jose Mourinho, whose Spurs side became the first team not to have a shot on target against Bournemouth for five years yesterday evening.

We talk to Lawrence Donegan, journalist, author, McKellar golf podcast host and friend of the show, about whether golf has thrived or wilted with the full glare of the US sports scene’s attention on it, why a heel is always good for business and if Bryson DeChambeau – with his new body shape, unique personality and hatred for cameramen – can be that heel, or if Brooks Koepka’s high school jock persona is more fitting for the part.

Plus there’s Frances Murphy’s TV Guide, good old Taffin, and some World Service shamanism.
