We spoke about “Field Of Dreams”, a quite frankly completely mental baseball movie from 1989, on one of our Murph ‘n’ Mal Movie Review shows last summer, so why are we talking about it again today?

Because Major League Baseball built a brand-new stadium in a corn-field in Iowa to host a game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees last week, which became the most-watched regular season baseball game in 16 years. US Murph tells us why baseball felt the need to do this, what younger fans who’ve probably never seen the movie thought of it, why baseball is so obsessed with nostalgia and where can it go from here.

Plus there’s the GAA’s missed opportunity, Ken’s opportunity To improve, Shamrock Rover’s damaging but not fatal 4-2 loss in Tallinn last night, and there’s more GAA than you can shake a stick at in Frances Murphy’s TV guide to the sporting weekend.
