It’s been a magnificent summer for Irish sportswomen and few can feel happier than Ellen Keane, who returned from the Tokyo Paralympic Games with a gold medal in the SB8 100m breaststroke, having beaten a legend of the games, Sophie Pascoe, in the process.

She joins the show just two days after arriving home from Tokyo to talk about taking home the biggest prize of all in her fourth games, how she managed to do it in a state of complete calm, and her dedication to promoting the Paralympic movement and offering herself as a role model to children with disabilities in a country where she and her teammates have to fight for respect as elite athletes.

With Eoin catching up on the post-match Ireland-Serbia coverage, he and Ken try to work out why Liam Brady and Brian Kerr see Stephen Kenny’s comments about his long-term plan for the team in such a wildly different light, and there’s a good old verbal broadside to be addressed, too.
