Irish sports teams are hotter than a pistol at the moment, with the men’s under-21 football team the latest to join the party, securing a win over group rivals Sweden with the very last kick of the match.

After Ken’s praise for the “lush soundscape” of the Chris de Burgh classic Lady In Red, a listener today emails us with the origin story of the song, which involves show favourite Pat Kenny.

We also preview Jason Quigley’s upcoming middleweight world title fight against Demetrius Andrade with Chris Mannix of DAZN and Sports Illustrated on today’s show. Quigley’s amateur pedigree probably promised more than his pro career has delivered so far, and we see what chance he has against the 30-0 Andrade, a boxer no one at the top of the division wants anything to do with.

And we look at a huge story emerging in English cricket over the last few days.
