Episode 2467: Herschel Walker’s Trump Template, Klopp Vs Oil States, Doherty Back In The Good Books
Herschel Walker is a former Dallas Cowboy, an Olympian, arguably the greatest college football player of all time and close friends with Donald Trump. With the midterm elections coming up on Nov 8th Walker is currently one of the most important people in American politics as he seeks to become elected a Senator in Georgia, a state that looks likely to decide whether the Democrats can hold onto power for the remainder of Biden’s presidency.
Since launching his bid, Georgia voters have learned about Walker’s ex-wife’s allegations of domestic violence, assertions from a former girlfriend that he paid for one abortion and urged her to end a second pregnancy (while claiming to oppose abortion), false claims he worked for the FBI and the police, as well as a number of other incidents that would normally rule a candidate out of the running. We chat to Dave Hannigan of the Irish Times about the man who “may literally be the only person who lies more than Trump.”
There’s also Klopp’s legal complaint over accusations of xenophobia, Doherty back in Conte’s good books and we look forward to a round of midweek fixtures in the Premier League.
