We can all agree that for all of our down-beat pre-game  previews over the years, this Ireland/France game marks a new  departure.  There’s just been something so… depressing about this week.

Between  Evan Ferguson being ruled out, Matt Doherty and Seamus Coleman’s  absence, and John Egan’s injury concern, we just can’t construct an  argument for an Irish win.

And  yet, with Richie Sadlier in studio, we manage to concoct a few moments  of levity.  If you were offered a 2-0 loss right now, would you snap  their hand off?  These are the questions we ask ourselves now.
