Our GAA correspondent wasn’t sure the Connacht final was even worth winning last week… but obviously no-one told his fellow county-men and -women, who celebrated wildly on the pitch in MacHale Park in Castlebar as Galway celebrated a fourth provincial title in a row.

Paul Flynn was there on Sunday, and he’s joined today by two-time Connacht title winner Barry Cullinane, who won the 2008 title alongside Paul Conroy, who was man of the match in the 2025 edition. We also look ahead to Meath and Louth in this weekend’s Leinster final, and discuss the skorts/shorts farce that played itself out on Saturday.

Trent Alexander Arnold has announced he’s leaving Liverpool (via the medium of sombre piano chords and a string section), and there’s also Ken’s thoughts on Declan Rice’s wish to be Steven Gerrard.
