Last night, around 4am Irish time, Al Hilal of Riyadh downed the giants of Manchester City 4-3 in extra time. Is this another plucky Saudi underdog story we can all get behind, or an example of English football sleeping while an empire rises in the east? Ken, and Martin Samuel, have the answer.

The last time Dublin played Cork in an All-Ireland hurling semi-final was 2013, when a Ryan O’Dwyer red card finally tipped the balance Cork’s way in a classic. Liam Rushe started that game at centre-back, and he talks to us about his memories of that day, his regrets, and why another Dublin player was lucky not to see red as well…

Jamie Wall, meanwhile, maintains his stance that Cork are NOT favourites for this year’s All-Ireland championship. And there’s also Kilkenny’s thirst for goals, and Tipperary’s big improvements in 2025.
