Eoin is puzzled by the Real Madrid fans’ lack of appreciation for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been talking nostalgically about his time in Manchester, where fans of a different mentality didn’t whistle him all the time.

There is also talk about the transfer window closing for Atletico Madrid, and opening for everyone else. Manchester City intend to blow away their rivals with a shock and awe display of financial muscle. One effect of this will be to heap pressure on Pep Guardiola, but maybe he fancies making this next season an all-or-nothing exercise.

Alex Ferguson has been subtweeting somebody, see if you can work out who.

James Horncastle and Kieran Canning join us to talk about the Champions League final. Why are Juventus so serene? And what qualities have allowed Zinedine Zidane to become statistically the most successful coach in Real Madrid’s history?

Plus there’s Corbyn’s Istanbul, Man United’s big man move, what football could learn from the GAA, and a day into his new job Arsene Wenger says he is looking to trim the fat from his bloated squad. Oh, and Eoin’s Poems (sorry).
