It’s All-Ireland final week, but Mayo’s uncanny ability to muscle their way into the news agenda remains undamaged by their absence from the last game of the Gaelic football season.

Manager Stephen Rochford has resigned as a result of a lack of support from the county board, and once again, the county is plunged into existential angst by the state of their football team. John Gunnigan, co-host of the Mayo News podcast and Mayo GAA blog curator joins us to discuss who’s to blame, why this is the end of the party, and who’ll take the job next.

US Murph joins us on the line to talk to us about Billy Beane’s comeback with the Oakland A’s, a decade after Hollywood immortalised him (plus some breaking Angelina Jolie news).

Murph has a radical suggestion for Mayo manager, and we discuss Mourinho’s distraction techniques, and how making the end-game as toxic as possible is always the last thing to go.
