A number of months ago, the first trailer for Asif Kapadia’s new movie about Diego Maradona surfaced – and it was subsequently fired around the Internet at high speeds in the WhatsApp groups of football fans of a certain age.

Asif (who won an Oscar for “Amy”, his brilliant documentary on Amy Winehouse) is in studio today talking to us about his new film, which charts Maradona’s journey to Naples, and the utter insanity of his life in that city.

When 99% of footballers are forgotten, Maradona’s emotional impact, in Argentina and in Naples, will endure. If this seems like it’s the sort of thing you’d be interested in, then rest assured – this documentary really is worth your while.

Plus there’s the return of the PBESO, the fall of the Canadian Empire, book news, and Ken ruins the ending of a book that was released in 1985.
