Another dramatic night for the FAI last night, as they vote overwhelmingly in favour of measures to avoid insolvency… but their new chairman Roy Barrett confirms he was recommended for the role by the governor of the Bank of Ireland, the association’s chief creditor.

He doesn’t see it as a problem, but there are plenty of people who do.
