It seems like a pretty good week to bury a new sports competition that has fallen flat on its face before it’s even begun – that’s the situation that the new Rainbow Cup finds itself in, as the South African teams officially announced this week that they would not be taking part in the competition created specifically with them in mind.

We talk to Shane Horgan about the need for the Celtic League/Pro12/Pro14/Pro16/Magners League to settle down and consolidate, and if Carbery and RG Snyman’s returns are enough to transform Munster into winners.

And Shane explains why he thinks ROG’s new three year contract as Director Of Rugby at La Rochelle is good news for ROG and good news for Irish rugby.

There’s also Barcelona’s lengthy club statement saying they’re still fighting for the European Super League, Gerard Pique has his say, and what exactly were Ed Woodward and Boris Johnson talking about in Downing Street last week?
