Amber Barrett’s goal against Scotland last October, which secured Ireland’s passage to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, might just have been the highlight of the Irish sporting year.

We spoke to Amber at our sold-out Liberty Hall shows last week, in association with O’Hara’s Irish Craft Beer – about the goal, her promise to Vera Pauw, and what the people of Creeslough meant to her in the aftermath of the disaster a few days before that game in Hampden.

We also check in with Ken, who’s heard from both managers ahead of the Argentina/Croatia semi-final, and we speculate on mentality monster Lautaro Martinez, Modric’s indefatigability, and old man Messi.
