Episode 3393: DJ Carey Sentenced, Mbappé Anfield Redux, Brazil ’27 Awaits
DJ Carey was sentenced yesterday to five and a half years in jail for inducing 22 people to give him around €400,000 to fund treatment for cancer that he didn’t have. The judge in the case said he couldn’t imagine a more reprehensible fraud than to tell people you had cancer and to extort money from them on that basis.

Judge Martin Nolan said Carey’s reputation has been destroyed and his good name will probably never recover. Malachy Clerkin & Sinead O’Carroll are not of a mood to argue with that summary, and they’re in studio today.

We also discuss Kylian M’bappé’s return to Anfield tonight after he was humbled by Conor Bradley last year, and Ireland got a decent draw in their Women’s Nations League group, which is our route to the World Cup in Brazil in 2027 – France, the Netherlands, and the lowly Poles (ranked one place above us in the world rankings, which is major cause for optimism in Murph’s book).
