The last few Covid-effected months have seen many seemingly self-evident truths being challenged to an extent we’d never have thought possible. The GAA has spent the last twenty years sleep-walking into a situation where inter-county players are flogged to death, and club players are bored to death, due to inactivity.

In the space of 2 weeks last month, a GPA suggestion to split the year into two defined seasons, February-July for inter-county, and July-November for clubs, was endorsed by both the Club Players Association, and the GAA President John Horan… and that, it seems, is that.

Our two GAA analytical heavy-hitters Michael Duignan and Oisin McConville are on the line to talk about the obstacles still remaining before this becomes a reality, why Oisin thinks the order is wrong, and why we’re not finished learning the lessons of Covid-19.

Plus there’s Stephen Hendry, Stefan Edberg and Matt le Tissier ALL making comebacks, and Andy Murray shows us why sometimes all a man needs to reinvent his sporting career is to meet the wrong surgeon.
