Today we discover whether Ireland can become the last European nation to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. Who will be our hero?

Last night, Sweden clinched the second-last place by knocking out Italy, whose camp looked divided and rancorous. Italy must now confront their first failure to qualify for the World Cup since 1958. It’s getting emotional, as Paddy Agnew explains.

Stephen Elliott joins us to talk through Martin O’Neill’s options. Murphy, Long, or both? Meyler and Arter or just one? Hoolahan in or out?

Plus there’s O’Neill on our passion DNA, Ken the Wifi wanker, Danish budgie hearts, De Rossi anger, Swedish commentary podiums, and Lord of the Dance inspirational quotes.
