Man City were humbled by Southampton in the Carabao Cup last night, are having a bit of a wobble in form and face a resurgent Man Utd this weekend.

Ronaldo Nazario goes by many names but ‘Il Fenomeno’, the nickname he earned during his time in Europe is perhaps the most fitting. With two Ballon D’Ors, two World Cups, two Copa America and over 300 career goals, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest strikers of all time.

Now he’s the subject of the brilliant new documentary ‘The Phenomenon: Ronaldo’ by filmmaker Duncan McMath which offers a glimpse inside the arc of redemption Ronaldo went on having gone from being the undoubted player of his generation, to the brink of retirement, and back to the top of the game with two new knees and another World Cup trophy.

Duncan joins us on the show today to talk about working with Ronaldo, the pressure that mounted on the superstar from a very early age and how that impacted his health and relationships, culminating in an incident on the eve of the 1998 World Cup Final.

Plus there’s the lost art of leaving goalkeepers on their arses, painful memories are brought up for Eoin regarding an angry mum and a haircut gone awry and we provide definitive proof of John Giles’ culpability on that dramatic night in Paris in 1976.
